I used it without the cab as well in that rehearsal and as others have noted, its got to be on the ground to sound right but it hung decently.Lead 9 is a downloadable collection of tabs for lead guitar. Honestly, its sized well to work as a head with a larger cabinet.I brought the Lunchbox w/ the cab to a rehearsal and still made only a single trip from the car. I didn't try the Lunchbox with the ZT extension cabinet (and not sure I even want to get one), but did try it with a external cab with a 12" (though it was 16 ohm). ![]() The Club reminds me of a "problem" with many rigs which excel at high volumes have.that is they sound their best at higher volumes. Its the absolute perfect amp for small coffee house/gallery gigs.ĭead is a funny word to describe an amp, don't think I'd go that far. Really like to try one, however honestly I just really, really dig the tiny nature of the Lunchbox. Can't speak for the latest but if it has a high end response closer to the Lunchbox yet still retaining the richer low end, it'll be killer. I've had one of the first run of the production line which had a couple issues (which were promptly resolved) and this one. I haven't gotten my hands on the latest Club. ![]() The bottom falls right out of it if you sit it up off the ground. Also, it sounds best sitting on the floor. #Youtube yakety axe guitar lesson fullHowever at full vol with my pedals and in a band setting it sounded great. I will be honest, at first I was kind of meh about the tone of the amp. I am going to be using this lil guy as my backup amp and for small clubs where a 2x12 amp is just to large. I don't use it with my Hayseed but it really made this amp come alive. Wampler ego compressor - This amp loves a little compression. Holy Grail reverb - I think I might switch to the Boss fender reverb soon. Makes any amp sound more country to my ear. I'm not buying that for the sole reason that I switched to Keystone pickups in my Tele and they have not heard the Hayseed since I changed them out. One guy actually told me it sounded better than my Hayseed 30. I turned the vol and gain all the way up and used my vol knob to clean it up. I wish I'd have brought the extension speaker to try now. ![]() It was way better than other SS amps I've used, but the overdrive still had a bit of an edge to it when I dug in. I think it was because I was mainly still hearing myself from the 6.5" speaker.which nearly coped on its own, btw. It also didn't feel as nice as it did in quieter situations. Guitarists in the audience said it sounded awesome, but to me it didn't feel or sound as good as my Blues Junior. Also a load of surf instrumentals including Miserlou. Played stuff from Yakety Axe and Folsom Prison Blues to Smoke on the Water (we figured it's time to bring that back into band sets.). Once we started I didn't really get a chance to change anything so I just stuck to that arrangement all night. Just a delay pedal on the floor for effects. Set up with the Lunchbox and telecaster with a line out to the PA. I took my Blues Junior and my Lunchbox, a tele and a les paul. 5 piece band with a medium volume drummer in a medium size pub. ![]()
